Entering the film industry at a young age as an audio technician on an independent film, Carter Boehm went on to found and serve as president of Vienna, Virginia’s Ponderosa Films. The production company borrows its name from an earlier company established by Carter Boehm’s father.

Mr. Boehm has served as executive producer of multiple feature films, including 2017’s Broken Ghost and 2019’s Robert the Bruce. In 2022, he received executive producer credits for his work on two Westerns, Murder at Yellowstone City and Terror on the Prairie.

Mr. Boehm is also the developer of Yellowstone Film Ranch Studios in Livingston, Montana. Set against the natural beauty of the Montana landscape, this multimillion-dollar studio and production facility has played an instrumental role in the production of several major films. In 2023, it housed the production of the Western The Unholy Trinity, starring Pierce Brosnan and Samuel L. Jackson, on which Mr. Boehm also served as executive producer.

The Yellowstone Film Ranch continues to attract prominent productions, including Rode to Ruin, an upcoming Western thriller directed by and starring Michael Keaton and featuring Morgan Freeman and Laura Linney. Through his development and oversight of the studio, Mr. Boehm has helped strengthen Montana’s film industry and provide an authentic, production-ready setting for high-profile projects.
